Ten decades ago six young men in the Linthicum family, who together owned a large portion of farmland to the south and west of Baltimore, were facing a critical decision – what to do with their property. The Linthicum men -- Sweetser Jr., George Milton, Wade Hampton, William, Seth Hance and J. Charles -- were all professional businessmen … doctors, lawyers and business owners. In June of 1908 they decided to sell their properties for residential homes and Linthicum the community was born.
