Memory Book

By Brenda Schwaab

The Holiday season is over and I am sure you have many happy memories.  The special occasion memories are very special, but so are everyday memories.  One way to preserve these memories is to make a Memory Book for someone special.  I have made them for my grandmother’s 80th birthday, my parents' 50th anniversary, and a longtime friend who was moving out of the area.

The great thing about these books is that you can assemble the basic book, but then you have family and friends write their memories on cards the book is filled with.

Materials:

-Photo Album book (single slot or 2 per page type album)

-Blank index cards (1 or more packs) and pen

Instructions:

-Purchase materials

-Give index cards to family members and friends and ask them to write a memory about the person you are giving the book to or the occasion you are trying to document

-Use an index card and write an introduction to the book

-Embellish the cards, if desired

-Collect the cards with memories and place in book

Sample Introductory Cards:

Grandmother – Birthday

(Greeting) "Grandmom, Happy 80th Birthday. Wish you many more.

(Memory) "I love coming to your house for your cookies and milk chocolate.

Anniversary

"Dear Mom & Dad, Happy 50th Anniversary.  Continue your wonderful life together

Moving out of area:

You and I have been friends for many years. Even though you are moving,  our friendship

will continue.
